Remodeling Contractor for Cooper City, FL Homes

Cooper City is a family town, and most of the remodeling calls we get from here sound alike in one way: the house is in a neighborhood the family loves, but the house itself no longer fits. The kids are bigger, a parent may be moving in, or the kitchen and bathrooms still look the way they did when the community was built. Moving is not the goal. Making the house work is.

Top Construction and Design remodels kitchens and bathrooms, builds additions and handles whole-home updates, including flooring, tile and painting. We work across Broward County, and we can help with design and permits. To see what a full renovation looks like, read about a whole-home renovation we finished in Coral Springs.

What Our Customers Have To Say

Kitchen Updates for 1980s and 1990s Homes

Most Cooper City kitchens we see were built in the 1980s or 1990s. They usually have decent space but tired cabinets, small pantries and lighting that leaves the counters dim. We replace cabinets and counters, open up the wall to the family room where it makes sense, and add an island if the room allows. Details are on our kitchen remodeling page.

Hall Baths the Kids Share

In a family house, the hall bathroom takes a beating. We rebuild these rooms with durable tile, a tub and shower that is easy to clean, solid waterproofing behind the walls and a vanity with enough drawers for more than one person. Primary bathrooms get the bigger changes, like walk-in showers and double vanities. See our bathroom remodeling page for more.

Additions When the Family Grows

Many Cooper City homes sit on lots with room behind them, which can make a bedroom, a bigger family room or an in-law suite possible. We plan the addition to match the existing roof, stucco and windows, check setbacks, drainage and association rules early, and can help with the design and permit drawings. Learn more on our home additions page.

Floors and Paint Throughout

A house with three kinds of tile, old carpet in the bedrooms and walls in a dozen colors feels older than it is. Replacing the flooring throughout with one continuous material and repainting in a coordinated palette is one of the most effective updates for a Cooper City home. We move furniture in stages and protect the rooms that are not being worked on, so you can stay in the house.

Remodeling in Cooper City’s Planned Communities

Cooper City was incorporated in 1959, and its first neighborhoods were modest ranch homes on wide yards. Most of the city filled in later, though, through planned communities. Rock Creek was the city’s first planned unit development in the early 1980s, Flamingo Gardens was built during the 1980s, and Embassy Lakes was built between 1990 and 1994 with about 1,280 single-family homes and townhomes. Monterra is much newer, with homes built in the 2010s.

That history shapes the work. Homes from the 1980s and 1990s are now at the age where original kitchens, bathrooms, windows and flooring are worn out, while the framing and block walls are usually in good shape. That makes them excellent candidates for interior remodels and for additions that build on solid structures. Newer homes in Monterra are a different case: owners there are usually personalizing builder finishes, adding built-ins or upgrading a kitchen that was never quite what they wanted.

Most of Cooper City’s planned communities have homeowners associations, and several are gated. Associations typically review exterior changes like additions, new windows and doors, patio covers and sometimes paint colors, and many have rules for contractor hours, parking and dumpsters. Country Glen, an equestrian community, has its own considerations for larger properties. We build approval time into the plan and provide drawings and product details for the review, so there are no surprises once work begins. Communities we serve in Cooper City include:

  • Rock Creek
  • Embassy Lakes
  • Flamingo Gardens
  • Monterra
  • Country Glen
  • Timberlake

Home Remodeling questions from Cooper City homeowners

Does my Cooper City HOA have to approve my remodel?

For exterior changes, usually yes. Additions, patio covers, windows, doors, roof changes and sometimes paint colors go through architectural review. Interior kitchen and bathroom remodels often do not, but associations may still have rules on work hours, parking and dumpsters. Check your community's documents early, and we can supply drawings and product details for any review.

Can you add a bedroom to my Cooper City house?

In many cases, yes. Whether an addition works depends on your lot, setbacks, utility locations and association rules. During our visit we look at where new space could go and how it would connect to the existing house and roof. We can help with the design, the HOA submittal and the permit drawings.

My home in Monterra is fairly new. Is a remodel worth it?

It can be. Newer homes rarely need structural work, but many owners want to replace builder-grade cabinets, counters, flooring or lighting, add built-ins, or rework a primary bathroom. Because the house is in good shape, the money goes straight into the finishes and features you care about rather than repairs.

Do I need a permit for a remodel in Cooper City?

Most remodels that change plumbing, electrical, walls, windows or the structure need a permit from the city's building department, and additions always do. Cosmetic work like painting usually does not. We can help with permits and inspections so the work is documented, which matters for insurance and resale.

How do we get started?

Call us and describe what you want to change, whether that is one room or several. We set up a visit, walk through the house with you, measure and talk about priorities and options. Then we send a written scope so you can review it at your own pace before deciding.

If your Cooper City home needs to fit your family better, whether that means a new kitchen, a rebuilt bathroom or more space, let’s talk about it. We will walk the house with you and give you an honest view of what makes sense. Send us a message or call (954) 318-2322 to set up a visit. We are available Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
