Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeling in Sunrise, FL

Sunrise has one of the widest housing mixes in western Broward. Single-family homes from the city’s early days, townhomes near Sawgrass, and large condo communities all sit within a few miles of each other. The kitchen and bathroom are usually the first rooms owners want to redo, and the right approach depends heavily on which kind of home you have.

We remodel kitchens and bathrooms in Sunrise with that in mind. In a house, we can move walls and rework layouts. In a condo or townhome, we work within the association’s rules and the building’s shared plumbing. Either way, we can help with design and permits, keep the work area contained and leave you with rooms that are easier to live in.

What Our Customers Have To Say

Kitchens in Smaller Footprints

Many Sunrise kitchens are galley or L-shaped, with little counter space and upper cabinets that stop short of the ceiling. We get more out of the same footprint with full-height cabinets, smarter corner storage, a peninsula where an island will not fit and counters that run without breaks. Sometimes opening one wall to the dining area makes the biggest difference, letting light from the living room reach the counters.

Shower Conversions and Safer Baths

Replacing a tub with a low-threshold walk-in shower is one of the most practical changes in Sunrise, especially for owners planning to stay in their homes as they get older. We add grab bar blocking in the walls, slip-resistant tile and good lighting, and finish the room so it looks like a modern bathroom rather than a medical one. A handheld shower and a built-in bench help too.

Condo and Townhome Remodels

Condo work comes with its own rules. Associations often require approval before work starts, proof of who is doing the work, set hours and sometimes soundproofing under new hard floors. Plumbing changes need care because drains and risers may be shared. We read your association’s requirements first and plan the job to fit them, so the work is not stopped halfway by a missed rule.

Tile, Floors and Finishing Touches

Kitchen and bath projects are a good time to carry new flooring into the hallways and living areas, and to repaint the rooms around them. We match grout, trim and fixture finishes across both rooms so the house feels updated as a whole, not in patches. Backsplashes, cabinet hardware, shower niches and lighting are where small choices show up every day.

Remodeling Across Sunrise’s Different Kinds of Homes

Sunrise started in 1960 as Sunrise Golf Village, a development of single-family homes around a golf course, and grew outward over the following decades. Homes in the Sunrise Golf Village area and Springtree are among the older single-family stock in the city, and kitchens and bathrooms there often still have original layouts, small baths and plumbing worth checking before new tile goes down. Welleby, further west, has a mix of houses and townhomes, often with more space to work with and layouts that open up easily.

Then there are the condos. Sunrise Lakes is a large 55+ community of condos and villas built over several phases from the early 1970s into the 1990s, around lakes and a golf course. Remodeling there and in other Sunrise condo communities means association approvals, building access rules and careful planning around shared plumbing. For many owners in these communities, the most valuable project is a safe, easy-to-use bathroom with a walk-in shower.

Near Sawgrass, Mediterranean-style townhomes and condos are newer, and the work is more about replacing builder finishes with something that feels personal. Whatever the property, plumbing and electrical changes generally need a permit from the city’s building department, and we can help with that process. Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeling questions from Sunrise homeowners

Can you remodel a kitchen or bathroom in a Sunrise condo?

Yes. Condo remodels need association approval before work begins, and many associations ask for contractor information, a description of the work and sometimes floor soundproofing details. We review your association's rules first, prepare the information they need and schedule the work within the hours they allow.

Do I need a permit for a kitchen or bathroom remodel in Sunrise?

Moving plumbing, adding electrical circuits or changing walls usually requires a permit from the city's building department. Replacing cabinets or fixtures in the same spot may not. In condos, the association may have its own requirements too. We explain what applies and can help with permits.

Can you make a bathroom safer for an older family member?

Yes. We often convert tubs to low-threshold or curbless showers, add blocking for grab bars, install a bench or seat, choose slip-resistant tile and improve lighting. We can also widen a doorway where the walls allow. The goal is a bathroom that is safe and still looks good.

Should I remodel the kitchen and bathroom at the same time?

Doing both together can make sense, since one setup, one permit process and matching finishes keep things simpler. If you need a working kitchen or bathroom throughout, we can stagger them. In a home with only one bathroom, we plan the order carefully so you are not left without one for long.

How do I get started?

Call us to set up a visit. We look at both rooms, ask what you want to change, and note any association rules or plumbing questions. Then we put together a clear scope, with layout and material options, that you can review before anything is ordered.

If your Sunrise kitchen feels cramped or your bathroom is harder to use than it should be, we would be glad to take a look. You can read more on our bathroom remodeling page, or call (954) 318-2322 to set up a visit. We are available Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
