Kitchen Remodeling in Pembroke Pines, FL

Pembroke Pines has two very different kinds of kitchens. On the east side, ranch homes from the city’s early decades often have a closed galley kitchen and wiring and plumbing that have been patched over the years. Farther west, newer master-planned neighborhoods have bigger kitchens that now need new cabinets, counters and a layout that fits how families live today.

We remodel kitchens in Pembroke Pines houses, townhomes and condos. Our work covers layout changes, cabinets, quartz and stone counters, backsplash, flooring, lighting and the plumbing and electrical behind the walls. Whatever the age of your home, the goal is a kitchen that is easier to cook in and easier to keep clean.

What Our Customers Have To Say

Kitchen Remodeling in Coral Springs, FL

Opening Up an Older Galley

In many east Pembroke Pines homes, the kitchen sits in a narrow galley or behind a wall from the dining room. Removing or widening that wall, when the structure allows it, can turn a cramped kitchen into one that connects to the rest of the house. We check what the wall carries and what runs through it, then plan new counter runs and an island or a peninsula with seating.

Updating What Is Behind the Walls

Older kitchens were not built for today’s appliances. A remodel is the right time to add dedicated circuits for the microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator, replace old supply lines and shutoff valves, and look closely at the drain line under the sink. Doing it while the walls are open is far easier than going back later, and it keeps the new kitchen from inheriting old problems.

Cabinets, Counters and Storage

Most homeowners choose shaker or flat panel cabinets in a light or wood tone, with quartz counters for easy care. We plan deep drawers for pots, a tall pantry cabinet and a spot for small appliances so the counters stay clear. In the larger kitchens of western neighborhoods like SilverLakes and Chapel Trail, an island with seating is often the centerpiece. See our kitchen remodeling page for more.

Condo and Villa Kitchens

Condo kitchens in communities like Century Village come with their own considerations: smaller footprints, shared plumbing lines and association rules about work hours, building access and approvals before anything starts. We design the kitchen to make the most of every inch with taller cabinets, lighter finishes and better lighting, and we coordinate the logistics with the association so the work runs smoothly.

Kitchen Remodeling Across Pembroke Pines

Pembroke Pines grew from east to west. The first homes went up in the 1950s, many of them on wide lots with swimming pools, and neighborhoods near the eastern end of the city still hold much of that early housing. Hollywood Pines, near Broward College, is known for its 1960s ranch-style homes. Those houses have good bones, but their kitchens were designed for a different era. When we remodel them, we plan for older plumbing and electrical and expect to update more than the cabinets.

The western part of the city filled in later with large master-planned communities. SilverLakes is built around its own lake system, Chapel Trail wraps around golf and backs onto a nature preserve, and Towngate and Pembroke Falls are made up mostly of single-family homes. Kitchens there are usually larger and the structure newer, so the work focuses on layout, finishes and lighting. Most of these communities have HOAs, which typically set rules for contractor access and dumpsters even for interior work.

Pembroke Pines also has a large condo population, including Century Village, a gated 55 and over community with thousands of condos. Condo kitchen remodels depend on the association’s approval process, so we start there. In every case, the city’s building department handles permits for plumbing, electrical and structural changes, and we can help with design and permits from the first visit. We remodel kitchens throughout Pembroke Pines, including:

  • Hollywood Pines
  • Pasadena Lakes
  • Pembroke Lakes
  • Towngate
  • Pembroke Falls
  • SilverLakes
  • Chapel Trail
  • Grand Palms
  • Century Village

Kitchen Remodeling questions from Pembroke Pines homeowners

Do I need a permit to remodel my kitchen in Pembroke Pines?

If the remodel involves plumbing, electrical, or removing or changing walls, a permit from the city's building department is generally required. Swapping cabinet hardware or painting usually is not. We walk through your plan, identify which parts need permits and help prepare what the city asks for so inspections happen at the right points.

Can you remodel a kitchen in a Century Village condo?

Yes. Condo kitchens follow the association's rules on approvals, work hours and access, and shared plumbing means some changes need extra care. Contact your association before work starts to learn its process. We help you gather the information it requests and plan the kitchen around the limits of the unit.

My house is from the 1960s. What should I expect behind the walls?

Older homes can have outdated wiring, aging supply pipes and drain lines near the end of their life, though not every house does. We look at what we can access during the first visit and plan for updates where they are needed, so you are not surprised once demolition starts.

Can we keep living at home during a kitchen remodel?

Most families do. We close off the work area, protect the floors and keep a clean path through the house. Setting up a temporary kitchen in the dining room or garage, with the refrigerator, a microwave and a coffee maker, makes the stretch without a full kitchen much easier to live with.
